𝐔𝐏𝐆𝐑𝐀𝐃𝐄 – Every so often during your ride, you might have noticed delayed shifting or even jumping gears. Perhaps your gear cable is fraying and looking worse for wear? If so then it is time to upgrade and replace your shifter cable and cable housing. Choose between a variety of gear cable housing colors to match your bike. With each set, you receive both shifter cables and gear cable housing for your front and rear gears as well as clips, ferrules, and cable end crimps.
𝐑𝐄𝐒𝐏𝐎𝐍𝐒𝐈𝐕𝐄 – Alike your brakes, your gears need to be responsive and instant. To achieve the most responsive gear shifting Corki Cycles used 1.1mm stainless steel PVC coated inner cables. This makes the shifting extra smooth with a rapid increase or decrease in gear. The front and rear cable and cable housing are also extra long to fit all bikes, including full-suspension mountain and road bikes.
𝐒𝐈𝐙𝐄 – The front inner cable is 2100mm / 82.7 inches long, the rear gear cable is 2100mm / 82.7 inches long and the cable housing is 2500mm / 98.4inches long. The cable housing is 4mm in diameter. The total shifter cable housing set is 121grame / 4.26 oz.
𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐏𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐁𝐋𝐄 – The Corki Cycles bike shifter cable and cable housing is compatible with both Sram and Shimano derailleurs. Whether you have Shimano or Sram components this replacement front and rear bike shifter set will fit your bike. 𝐏𝐑𝐄𝐏𝐀𝐑𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 – To install the new gear cable and housing you will need to pull out the old inner gear cable and remove the housing. Take the old cable housing measure against the new housing to see if length adjustments are needed. After ensuring the correct length attach the gear cable housing to your frame.
𝐈𝐍𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐋𝐋𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 – Next, attach the gear cable to your shifter and derailleur, threading through the gear cable. Secure the gear cable tightly with an Allen key on the derailleur. Adjust the gear cable tightening or loosening based upon feedback from shifting the gear. Once the gears are set up perfectly attach the gear nipple and pinch with pliers. This prevents the gear cable from fraying at the end. Replicate again for your front or rear derailleur.
